On some cars the spare wheel is mounted outside, under the body, and may go untouched for years. The carrier mechanism spends that whole time in damp and dirt: it clogs up, corrodes and stops moving freely.
Owners usually find out about it on the road — when the spare is needed and will not come down. A periodic service keeps the mechanism working and reveals faults in advance.

How it works

The spare comes down
We lower and remove the spare wheel. That alone shows how freely the mechanism runs and whether it has seized.

Inspection and cleaning
We inspect the carrier, check that it works and clean off dirt and corrosion.

Grease and refit
We grease the moving parts — the grease is included in the price — and refit the wheel. The job takes about an hour.

Handover with a report
You get a serviced mechanism, a list of any faults or observations, and photo and video of the work.

The price does not cover spare parts, nor the repair or replacement of damaged carrier components. If that work is needed, we do it separately and only once agreed with the owner.
Warranty
If the service shows the mechanism is damaged or needs repair or new parts, we tell the owner. No additional work is carried out without your agreement.

Why does it need doing?
The carrier sits outside, in damp and road dirt. Over time it corrodes and stops working. Checking it in advance avoids the situation where you need the spare on the road and cannot get it off.
What does it cost and how long does it take?
1,800 RSD with the grease included. It takes about an hour.
What is not included?
Spare parts, and the repair or replacement of damaged carrier components. Those are separate jobs, by agreement only.
What do I get?

What if the mechanism is already damaged?
We will tell you and quote the repair. Extra work only goes ahead once you agree.
