How it works

Book a slot
Come with the seller or bring the car yourself. The inspection takes about an hour and a half, so it is worth booking ahead.

On the lift
Suspension, brakes, steering, leaks, belts and ancillaries — everything visible only from underneath and easy to miss in a car park.

Diagnostics and bodywork
We read fault codes, check the battery and brake fluid, and go over the body with a paint gauge — resprayed panels show up.

The report
A written report listing the faults and what they cost to fix, photos and video, plus our advice on what can wait and what cannot.

The price is fixed and does not change with how many faults we find. A compression test and engine endoscopy are not included — we do those separately if arranged in advance.
Warranty
Our job is to assess the car objectively and give you everything you need to decide. No extra work is carried out without the owner’s agreement.

What do I get afterwards?
A written report listing the faults found and what they cost to put right, photo and video, and our recommendations for running and repairing the car.
How long does it take?
About an hour and a half.
What is not covered?
A compression test and engine endoscopy. If you need them, we can do them separately — tell us in advance so we can allow the time.
Will you inspect any car?
Most passenger cars. Commercial vehicles, high-capacity estates and minibuses are not covered by this service.
What if the seller refuses an inspection?
That is a warning sign in itself. A seller with nothing to hide usually welcomes it — the report backs up what they are telling you.
